Realme recently unveiled their flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 5G. It comes with real flagship hardware and a 3.5mm audio jack as well. The phone has a 6.43″ Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution. It has 120Hz refresh rate and 360 Hz touch sampling rate. These comes with a five user configurable settings. The chipset is used is the most powerful Snapdragon ever, the Snapdragon 888. The phone comes with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB storage. It is of the faster UFS 3.1 type. But there is no storage expansion card slot. There is option for dual sim.
The camera at the back is a triple camera setup. The main primary shooter is a 64MP one. An 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor is also available. The macro camera is pretty useless considering the other already available 2MP macro sensors. The selfie camera is a 16MP unit and it is set as a punch hole inside the display. The main camera can record 4K/60 fps video, thanks to the snapdragon 888 beast inside. Slow-motion videos can also be recorded at 720p/480 fps. We can expect flagship level image output from these cameras.
The battery of the realme GT is a 4500 mAh unit. It supports super fast 65W charging through the wire. But there is no option for wireless charging. But that is not an issue considering it’s price point. We get Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, that is the latest and Wi-Fi 6e as well. The phone has 2 speakers for stereo sound. One is a bottom firing unit and the earpiece acts as a second channel as well. The phone runs android 11 and comes with Realme UI 2.0. It has the latest HyperBoost 4.0 package for that cutting edge performance while gaming and squeezing the most out of that Snapdragon 888.
The Realme GT come in three colors which are Galactic Silver, Deep Sea Blue, and Dawn Yellow. The yellow color phone comes with a leather like textured finish. The 8GB RAM variant of the phone retails for $450 and the top tier 12GB RAM version retails for $510. The phone is currently available only in China. Global availability is not scheduled anytime soon but we can expect it in the coming months. We can expect an Indian launch shortly. The aggressive pricing of this flagship level phone makes it a tough competition for other phone makers as the value for money flagship category is a tough one.
