LPG mustering (EKYC update) has been made mandatory to ensure that LPG cylinders are held by real customers. The last date for this may be announced by the central government soon. After that, those who do not do mustering may not be able to book the cylinder.
Previously, it was believed that those covered by the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana were responsible for the update. However, the distribution businesses made it obvious that everyone should do it. Indane, Bharat, and HP have issued warnings that mustering is mandatory, citing people’s reluctance to participate even after two months of mustering. In a Kochi agency with 8,500 consumers, less than 500 had been gathered thus far. This is the condition across the state.
How to do LPG mustering?
- Visit the gas agency with your Aadhaar card and the gas connection book.
- The biometric punching technique has also been applied in agencies.
- The registered cellphone will receive a message indicating that the EKYC has been updated.
- Mustering can also be done through the distribution firms’ apps.
- Companies and Aadhaar face recognition apps should be downloaded.
- Attempting to change connection.
LPG mustering to change connection
If the connection holder is bedridden or in a similar situation, another individual with the same ration card can perform the mustering. For this, alter the connection to that person’s name. It requires gas book, ration card, and Aadhaar card.
