PM WANI Wi-Fi Scheme
Our daily lives now heavily rely on the Internet for banking, business work, shopping, and other activities. We do everything that is connected to the internet these days, including photography, SOS assistance, location monitoring, making and receiving national and international phone calls, and much more. Internet connectivity is now available practically everywhere in the nation and in many regions of the world where telecom service is not available, thanks to telecom providers’ reasonably priced broadband and internet data services. Regrettably, a considerable number of individuals continue to be unable to pay the internet data plans provided by Indian telecom firms.
The Department of Telecommunication introduced the Prime Minister’s WiFi Access Network Interface (PM WANI Wi-Fi Scheme) in December 2020. The program’s goal is to increase the number of public WiFi hotspots around the nation in order to build a strong digital communications infrastructure, particularly in rural areas.The government hopes to boost employment for small and microbusiness owners and give underprivileged urban impoverished and rural households access to affordable internet by improving access to public hotspots.
The program incentivizes nearby stores and businesses to offer free Wi-Fi for last-mile internet delivery, eliminating the need for a license or registration cost.PM WANI Wi-Fi Scheme;
