The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been hosting the Twenty20 International cricket competition, known as the IICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 (previously the ICC World Twenty20), since 2007.
India, captained by Rohit Sharma, will take on South Africa, led by Aiden Markram, at the Kensington Oval stadium in Barbados today at 8:00 p.m. Notably, the only two teams still unbeaten in the tournament are South Africa and India.
On Saturday, the Proteas will compete in their first-ever T20 World Cup final, while the Men in Blue—who won the coveted trophy in 2007—will compete in their first event final since 2014. Watchers will expect an exciting match as South Africa attempts to win their first-ever T20 World Cup trophy and India attempts to break a 13-year-long wait for an ICC trophy.
Rain is predicted to cause havoc during the India vs. South Africa final on Saturday, much like it did in the semi-final. In Bridgetown, Barbados, rain and thunderstorms started early on Friday. From 9 AM to 1 PM, there is no chance of rain. At 1:00 PM, the rain will resume, but it will end quickly. There is a 33% to 56% chance of rain between 8 and 11 p.m.

Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: What happens if rain spoils play in Barbados today?
In the event that rain prevents the match from happening, there is a backup day. But even if it means playing fewer overs, the ICC advises concluding the match on the designated day.
“The umpires will use the extra time allotted and, if needed, shorten the number of overs in order to attempt to get a result on the scheduled day if play is delayed on that day. According to ICC regulations, “the umpires shall aim to maximise play on the scheduled day of the match in order to achieve a result on that day, as if there was no Reserve Day available,” when making choices regarding the ground, weather, and light.
In order to receive a result, the regulations also mandate that each team bat for a minimum of five overs. Should play not pick up by the deadline to facilitate this, the game will be canceled for the day. The cricket match will then be completed or rerun on the Reserve Day.
