Swachhata-MoHUA a free app was created by Janaagraha in collaboration with the Indian government’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). The purpose of the app is to enable people to report issues pertaining to their community, such as dead animals, dirty public restrooms, trash dumps, and more. After a complaint is filed, it is sent to the relevant city corporation and then assigned to the sanitary inspector for that specific ward.
In addition to allowing the user to vote on other pertinent issues, the app records the complaint’s location when taking a picture. Users of Swachhata-MoHUA can also post photos from their phone’s gallery and modify or remove their complaints.Users can receive push notifications and regular information regarding the status of their complaints. Users can reach the team at or give the 1969 helpdesk a ring with any questions.
Concept of Swachhata
- Sanitization, or swachhata, is a term for hygiene and cleanliness.
- The idea of swachhata has to do with an individual’s health.
- It is significant because maintaining good hygiene enhances our quality of life, makes our living environment better, and elevates our consciousness to a more pure and healthy condition.
- The Indian government launched the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), also known as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission, across the entire nation in 2014 with the goal of reducing open defecation and enhancing solid waste management.
- ‘One step towards cleanliness’ is the tagline for this initiative.
- The ancient Indians also developed techniques for handling various pollutants including sewage water.
- Everyone has a duty to maintain cleanliness, and doing so should require effort on everyone’s part.
