This description about how to read the KSEB meter very easily. Initially, we should know that the energy meter is an integrated instrument. Such as the auto meter of a vehicle which indicates the kilometre from the vehicle buy till the vehicle runs today so the auto meter is integrating instrument and the speed meter which indicates the speed of the car. When the car stops the speed meter becomes zero.
At the same method, The energy meter also indicates the unit which used from the meter is fixed till today. In the market, different types of energy meters are available but in earlier times disc type energy meter is used in the house. just before the KSEB used display type digital energy meter is used in every house. We can simply calculate the reading from a digital reading meter. Nowadays the KSEB using a TOD meter in every house.
TOD means a time of a day meter. This meter gonna be divide 24 hour time into three-zone. Basically, this meter is used for industrial purpose. Because the industrial reading is like each rate for each time such as morning-evening like that which charged based on time zone. Usually, the TOD meters are used for industrial now the TOD becomes used for domestic use. But KSEB never charged domestic users based on time zone.
Basically, the TOD meter is divided based on time zone. The initial time zone is 6 am to 6 pm which indicates t1 in meter. The second time zone 6 pm to 10 am which indicates t2 in meter and the third time zone is 10 pm to 6 am which indicates t3 or c3 in meter. The t3 or c3 is based on the manufacture and maybe changing that indicate in different meters. The bottom of the meter provides a push-button that helps to move from a time zone to another time zone.
